The new Seawork Insights online conference series has launched, offering the commercial marine community a fast track to the latest themes and expert perspectives ahead of Seawork 2026 in Southampton, 9–11 June.
The first session held on Wednesday 19November, titled “The Growing Importance of Circularity in Maritime Shipbuilding”, is presented in collaboration with Maritime & Offshore NL, the Dutch trade association representing the shipbuilding and offshore sectors.
Hosted by Madelief de Wit and Rosanne van Houwelingen of Maritime & Offshore NL, the session explores how circular principles are reshaping shipbuilding, from smarter material use to creating new value from existing resources.
Attendees will gain insights into the EU’s vision for circularity, including the role of material passports through the Circles Of Life project, which enhances transparency and supports recycling and reuse in ship construction. The session also highlights four Dutch best practices, showcasing innovative circular approaches from shipyards and suppliers that demonstrate both environmental and economic benefits.
Alongside expert presentations, the webinar includes a live Q&A session, giving participants the opportunity to engage directly with industry leaders, share experiences, and expand their professional networks. This event marks the first in the Seawork Insights series, which will continue with a range of topical free-to-attend online conference sessions leading up to Seawork 2026:
Building the Infrastructure & Data Ecosystems for Autonomous Workboats with SMI – Wednesday 10 December 2025
Marine Autonomous Surface Systems (MASS) in Maritime Construction with IMCA – Wednesday 11 March 2026
Make the Most of Seawork with the Commercial Marine Team – Wednesday 29 April 2026
Each session offers valuable opportunities to connect, listen, and learn, ensuring the maritime community stays informed, inspired, and ready for the future of the commercial marine industry.
