Landau has purchased the former Marine Skills Centre, situated on the banks of the river Itchen in Woolston, Hampshire UK, and built on the historic site of the first Supermarine Spitfire factory.
Set to become a thriving marine hub, around 50% of the 9000 sq ft site will house Landau Group headquarters for Landau Marine, Landau Haulage and Landau Properties. The remainder will be split into a mix of rental offices and shared space for marine SMEs and startups.
This latest move follows a series of significant developments for Landau over the last few months. CEO Ben Metcalfe said, “2024 and 2025 have been game-changing years for us, by bringing Landau Marine, Maritime Haulage and Property under one roof, we’ve created a fully integrated business designed to serve you better. It means faster, more flexible service.
“Need a last-minute boat movement or a lift to meet a tight deadline? Our in-house haulage team has it covered. Looking for a full refit or repair service? With our new lifting facilities, heated workshops, engine and machinery shop, woodworking and laminating shops, plus blasting and spraying at Marchwood, we now handle every aspect of your project in-house: no delays, no third-party hold-ups.”
Landau is able to offer short-term accommodation for business and contractors working with the company and also has private meeting rooms and co-working sites available in Southampton and Portsmouth.
