Learn safety lessons from a selection of marine accidents involving vessels from the merchant, fishing and recreational sectors.
The Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB), an independent branch within the Department for Transport (DfT) at His Majesty’s Government UK, has published its latest collection of lessons learned from marine accidents, the second volume of 2023.
Chief Inspector of Marine Accidents, Andrew Moll OBE opens this edition by expressing his thanks to Simon Graves, Duncan Murt and Andy Murray for their introductions, which bring contemporary context to the cautionary tales and safety messages within the publication, edited by Clare Hughes.
Located in offices in Southampton UK, the MAIB examines and investigates all types of marine accidents to or on board UK vessels worldwide, and other vessels in UK territorial waters.
