Solent Freeport – hear the latest news at Seawork
There’s a full programme of informative, engaging, thought-provoking conferences and business briefings at Seawork this year, one of the first gives an overview of the proposed Solent Freeport and its associated opportunities.
On Tuesday 21 June, Day One of Seawork, Solent Freeport Chair Brian Johnson will provide the overview of the proposed Freeport and how it sits within the Solent region. Ian Henderson, ABP’s Head of Property for the Southampton region will provide a view from a Freeport Partners perspective and Neil O’Connell, Head of Contracts and Commercial at Hampshire County Council will consider its potential influence from a local highway infrastructure perspective.
All three presenters will engage in a question and answer session to discuss the opportunities that the Freeport status may bring to the region. The session is open to all Seawork attendees.
Brian Johnson –
Brian is the UK Business Development Director at BAE Systems Maritime and works in Portsmouth Naval Base. He brings a wealth of private sector experience to his role, with over 20 years’ experience in the Marine and Maritime sector at organisations such as Thales, Marconi and the aforementioned BAE Systems. Brian is also on the Board of the Society of Maritime Industries.
Ian Henderson MRCIS –
Ian is Associated British Ports (ABP) Head of Property for the Southampton region. A Chartered Surveyor with over 20 years of property experience, his previous roles have given him experience of managing diverse property portfolios, ranging across historic assets to out-of-town and high street retail, via warehousing and residential. He is also a Board member at the UK Warehousing Association.
Neil O’Connell MEng (Hons) CEng FICE MCIHT
Neil is Chief Engineer, Head of Contracts and Commercial at Hampshire County Council, a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and Director of the Generation 4 business group who advise government Clients on contract and procurement strategies in the delivery of their major infrastructure projects.
