Exhibitors are yet again receiving mailings asking them to sign and return a form confirming their company details within the International Fairs Guide, International Fairs Directory or the Expo Guide.
Under no circumstances should exhibitors sign the forms.
The content of the letter, email, or even fax, implies that the listing is free. However, the tiny print on the footer of the forms may state a company in Austria, Costa Rica or other location and by signing the form you could be committing yourself to €1212 a year for the next 3 years.
Seawork is NOT associated with the International Fairs Guide, International Fairs Directory or the Expo Guide. Seawork does not share exhibitor contact details nor has permission been given for the International Fairs Guide, International Fairs Directory or the Expo Guide to undertake these mailings which are completely unsolicited.
Exhibitors who have been caught by the International Fairs Guide, International Fairs Directory or the Expo Guide scam or similar may also refer to the website https://www.aeo.org.uk/expoguide. This gives advice about what to do and what not to do.
Seawork’s advice is to do nothing, but the website does at least offer reassurance and practical advice to those who have signed the form and are worried about any consequences.
