Seawork, where deals are made and partnerships formed, was chosen to announce the collaboration of three powerful forces in the industry; Chartwell Marine, a pioneer in next-generation vessel design, Manor Marine, providing the highest level of quality manufacturing and construction and Volvo Penta, providing the power solutions. Against the backdrop of Volvo Penta’s stand the three officially revealed how they have formed the partnership, which will be supported by the UK supply chain in a bid to service the booming offshore wind farm industry and crew transfer vessels.
Manor Marine and Chartwell Marine have previously collaborated together on other projects but joining forces with Volvo Penta demonstrated a further commitment to working on innovative and sustainable concepts and designs into the future. Johan Inden, President of Marine Business Unit, Volvo Penta commented on the strength the three can bring to the future of where the industry is going, “We see the offshore wind market really taking off as it's been expanding over the last few years. High performance vessels within this industry require a good balance between performance and emissions and our partnership will help further this. “Seawork has provided an excellent opportunity for us to showcase the strong partnership we have announced today. It’s the hotspot of the industry for the support vessels working in the offshore wind market. It attracts designers, builders and operators from across the world and is where the industry gathers.” Chartwell Marine managing director Andy Page added, “Seawork is the best platform to announce the partnership as everyone is here and we’re keen to show off what we're capable of and enjoy the success together.”
