USV Conference programme annnounced

The programme for the Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) Conference has been announced.

The Conference, to be held in the afternoon of the second day of Seawork, Wednesday 12 June, will be chaired by Dan Hook, Senior Director, L3 ASV.  L3 ASV is a leading supplier of unmanned and autonomous marine systems and has delivered over one hundred systems to forty customers across ten countries in just eight years.

The varied conference programme includes the keynote presentation, One Sea - vision and roadmap for autonomous maritime transport system given by Jukka Merenluoto, Ecosystem Lead at DIMECC Ltd; AutoNaut Ltd’s Phil Johnston speaking on Operating wave-propelled AutoNaut unmanned surface vehicle (USV) around offshore infrastructure, including “close-pass” manoeuvres: Ubiquitous Marine Autonomy with Advance Perception Technology presentation from Phil Bourque, Sea Machines and a Smart shipping and regulation update from Dr Katrina Kemp, the Smart Ships & Automation Policy Officer at the MCA.

The panel discussion will focus on “Learning from the rest” An Oil & Gas perspective on operating autonomous systems and will be moderated by Simon Cheeseman, Sector Lead at Wave & Tidal Energy, Ore Catapult.
