X Series unveiled
Industry-leading 88.2% total powertrain efficiency, up to 40kW of power and weighing up to 36% less than traditional motors – it’s the new X Series from ePropulsion.
Launched in the US last month and making its European debut just last week, the X Series comprises three innovative electric outboard motors, unsurprisingly named after their respective kW power, the X12, X20 and X40.
Danny Tao, Co-founder and CEO of ePropulsion, said: “The inclusion of the X Series into our ever-expanding electric propulsion portfolio marks a significant step forward in electric propulsion systems.
“The X Series is the result of extensive R&D…We are always looking to innovate, not just to match what is available for standard internal combustion outboards, but to move beyond their capabilities and provide real, enhanced performance, while also providing a quiet, clean, and powerful alternative for propulsion."
The X Series digital helm and smart throttles provide instantaneous feedback, while the electric steering eliminates the need for cumbersome hydraulic components and opens the door to Advanced Driving Assistance Systems that enhance safety and redefine aquatic navigation. Cutting-edge driving assistance features like 'Position Hold' and 'Heading Hold' and ‘360 Motions’ offer additional safety.
The X40 is built to endure harsh marine conditions, boasting a reliable 96V electrical platform in compliance with the latest IEC standards. It is IP67 waterproof and promises a minimum service life of 5,000 hours.
