X2 equals double storage for new VDR

AMI Marine's in-house group of developers and engineers, specialising in data recording technology, has come up with the all new X2 Voyage Data Recorder.

Designed with a combination of a high-performance main processor and Solid-State technology, the ultra-low maintenance ‘fit and forget’ X2 VDR works out of sight, operating quietly in the background, and only requires an annual service

The X2 VDR has an option of 8” or 9.7” colour touch screen bridge control panels for monitoring of all recorded data, audio and images along with expiration dates for replaceable items.  An automatic reminder advises when the next annual service (APT) is due; ongoing APT attendances can be arranged ensuring vessels keep moving without delays.

The internal Solid-State drive has a capacity of 1TB which allows for around 60* days of storage, double that of the required 30 days as specified by MSC.333(90) regulations. The easy-to-use data playback makes for simple and efficient fleet and vessel management.

New simple cable management allows for easy installation. Retrofit installations are also quick and easy thanks to the VDR’s three wire microphone solution; no need to run new cables, allowing for a much faster and cost-effective retrofit installation. All configuration and installation data is held in the capsules and LTRM allowing fast, economic service calls, with no requirement for an external storage device.

*Actual period of recorded data dependent on size of image and audio files
