You say potato, we say bio-degradable wrap
In a move to help eliminate single-use plastic, Mercator Media is pleased to announce that the Seawork Show News, together with Boating Business and Maritime Journal magazines, is now being despatched in bio-degradable postal wrappers.
The new wrappers are made from potato starch sourced from food industry waste stock, are 100 % compostable and carry the OK compost EN13432 certification. All raw materials used in the production and manufacture of bioplastic comply with relevant food contact directives. No harmful or toxic by-products are produced on composting, and the wrappers can be disposed of in ‘green’ bins (subject to local processing instructions).
Andrew Webster, CEO of Mercator Media, commented, “The initiative is part of Mercator Media’s wider commitment to environmental sustainability. Whether our magazines, our exhibitions or the conferences we produce, we are always looking for ways to be more efficient and eliminate waste”.
