Three British companies have collaborated to launch a new range of shock mitigation seating, designed specifically to withstand the harsh marine environment. LOKI Dynamics, Sea Sure and Shock WBV revealed the new Fenrir range of seating on the opening day of Seawork.
Andy Hughes, MD of Loki (named after the Norse God of Mischief) described how the companies worked together to fill a gap in the marketplace. “Most shock mitigation seats on the market now are designed for internal use, for example on the bridge and generally undercover. Our Fenrir range, named after the wolf which was Norse God Loki’s son, are ergonomically designed for comfort and safety, and made from materials designed to be waterproof and UV resistant.”
In addition, unlike other shock mitigation seating currently available which weigh in at around 30-40 kilos, Fenrir seats weigh just 14 kilos – making them ideal for use in smaller RIBS and workboats. “We are also looking at opportunities to sell to Australian and American boat manufacturers,” says Hughes.
