Buoyant Works has achieved its 50th fendering shipment to the Asian market.
The milestone delivery from the specialists in vessel fendering and access systems
went to Prosperous 6, a state-of-the-art Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) designed by Chartwell Marine and recently delivered to Singapore for Pacific Radiance.
“This project marks our 50th fendering shipment to the Asian market — a major achievement for our team and a reflection of the growing demand for our high-performance fendering solutions across the region. From Singapore to South Korea, Taiwan to Japan, Buoyant Works continues to expand its footprint in Asia, supporting vessel operators with trusted protection that enhances both safety and operational longevity.”
Buoyant Works designs and manufactures equipment dedicated to marine safety, performance and sustainability. The company
introduced a new version of its CTV bow fender step extension, Slidex, at Seawork this year.
Slidex is an easily adjustable step extension system where it's lengths can be changed with ease whilst out at sea. Sitting in a neutral position of -50mm, Slidex can easily be moved by a single person to extend to, 50mm, 150mm and 250mm, for those windfarms that have varying boat ladder distances.
Using a locking mechanism and rails that slide into the step unit, Buoyant Works has reduced the risk to CTV crew members carrying out maintenance on an offshore wind turbine by ensuring that the step extension is moved from the deck of the boat, rather than needing someone at the very front. Slidex returns to its neutral position when in transit, avoiding any accidental collisions seen with fixed step extensions.
