A technical and sustainable solution to mooring systems was demonstrated by Blue Parameters at this year’s Seawork. The Mermaid-K single point mooring system is designed to prevent seabed scouring and the destruction of seagrass which is often caused by traditional chain mooring systems.
Managing Director Nick Burton said these single point systems have already been installed along the UK’s South Coast, Scotland, in Europe and as far afield as the Falkland Islands. “As well as preventing environmental damage from chain dragging, the Mermaid-K system is through life more cost-effective, with lower maintenance and comes with a 10-year warranty.”
Blue Parameter is also the UK distributor for Seaflex’s progressively damping elastic mooring systems.
