About the Speaker

Alexandra, Team Leader Claims London/Senior Lawyer at Gard (UK) Limited, has extensive experience in claims handling with a specialism in marine pollution and green shipping issues. Until recently she was Senior Claims Director for Thomas Miller for P&I and FD&D. Prior to joining the P&I world, Alexandra worked for Athens and London based law firms specializing in maritime law and a ship owning company. She also has seafaring experience on a bulk carrier. She is a qualified English and Greek solicitor with an LLM from Southampton University and a Diploma in Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals from North Kent College. In addition to the above, she has extensive experience in maritime casualties, sanctions, piracy/maritime security and charterparty disputes. Finally, Alexandra lectures extensively in the above areas of expertise to the maritime community and has shared her broad perspective and knowledge of P&I and legal issues in numerous academic and industry fora.
