G+ team expands
Against a backdrop of rapid growth in the global offshore wind industry, G+ has announced new appointments to the G+ secretariat to steer the organisation through planned expansion, deepening its international activities and membership base.
With an initial emphasis on the booming North American market, Beate Hildenbrand will lead the strategic development of G+ in the Americas.
Mariana Carvalho is the new Offshore Wind Technical Manager, running the G+ work programme, including the launch of the lifesaving rules for the global offshore wind industry.
Caren Hsiao, based in Taipei, Taiwan, has been appointed as the APAC representative for the G+. A fluent Mandarin and English speaker, Caren is tasked with growing the G+ offering in the region, with particular focus in Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam and Australia.
David Gana has been appointed to oversee the health and safety incident data programme for G+’s annual report, as well as look after the safety incident lessons G+ makes available through Toolbox, the Energy Institute’s free-to-use incident lessons platform.
Chaired by Vattenfall’s Director of Health and Safety for Offshore Wind, Jakob Nielsen, and overseen by G+ General Manager Kate Harvey FEI, G+ comprises ten leading operators – Corio Generation, EDF Renewables, Equinor, Ocean Winds, Ørsted, RWE, ScottishPower Renewables, Siemens Gamesa, SSE, Vattenfall – as well as many associate members.
G+ works internationally to tackle health and safety issues in the global offshore wind industry through four main work programmes: incident data reporting, good practice guidelines, safe by design and learning from incidents.
