New Fire extinguisher cabinet from Jo Bird

The Best just got better
The JB01R has been one of the most popular cabinets in the extensive Jo Bird range. It may sound risky then to replace it with a brand new model. If it ain’t broke why fix it as the saying goes.
The reasons for introducing the JB84 are threefold. Jo Bird’s R&D department have been working on improving the RTM (resin transfer moulding) which has been such as success with the JB81/82/83 models since it gives not only an improved standard of finish inside and out but also a stronger, more corrosion resistant design. It doesn’t stop there either.
The RTM manufacturing process reduces material wastage as well as harmful airborne pollutants so it is a cleaner process. This new phase two RTM method provides a stronger cabinet back as well as a larger door aperture so it is easier to get the fire extinguisher out in an emergency. The IP rating is unaffected though as it achieves an excellent IP56 rating. This model is designed to store the vast majority of 5Kg CO2 portable fire extinguishers as well as taller 12Kg/litre fire extinguishers.
The dimensions are very close to the long running JB01 and so the JB84 will replace both the very popular JB01 and the JB01R cabinets.

Like its predecessors, it is designed for bulkhead, wall, floor or post mounting and heated versions will be available for cold climates.
Just like the JB01R, the door features the robust rotary handle with the anti-tamper facility and anti-microbial Biomaster® additive. The door is also thicker at 16mm as opposed to 10mm to help ensure a tight seal through enhanced rigidity. This can either be left or right hinged to suit tight spaces.
As before the JB84 has both Lloyds and ABS approvals and a 5 year guarantee against manufacturing defects.

The JB84 will be available from late September 2021 and is manufactured in the UK.
