Rapid growth leads to new appointments

Rapid growth since entering the marine equipment sector two years ago signals a raft of new appointments for Barrus's Marine Equipment Division.

Three new appointments have been announced within the company’s Marine Equipment Division to support the rapidly growing business.

Jason Slingo takes up the role of Business Development Manager. Before joining Barrus, Jason‘s background was in design and project engineering and latterly he spent ten years with Aquafax as Business Development Manager. Managing and supporting OEM accounts, Jason will provide sales support to SailForce, Barrus’s national sales partner, in addition to further developing business within existing OEM and Key Accounts. “Joining a company with a reputation such as Barrus’s in the marine industry is very exciting and I am looking forward to immersing myself in new product ranges and helping to grow the Barrus portfolio,” commented Jason.

With a brand portfolio of over 25 leading brands, the importance of robust stock forecasting management and planning is crucial to ensure the right products are in stock at the right time to satisfy customer demand.

Agnieszka Borysiuk has been appointed to the role of Demand and Forecast Planner. Agi (as she is known), comes from a background of spare parts planning within the automotive industry starting as a Spare Parts Coordinator and moving up to Inventory Planner. Agi will be utilising this experience to set up a dedicated system for Marine Equipment monitoring sales and current market trends enabling the company to make more informed and accurate decisions. “I am looking forward to being instrumental in the planning, purchasing and forecasting within the Marine Equipment Division which will benefit all our suppliers and customers to develop successful long-term relationships as an integral part of the supply chain process,” commented Agi.

Mike Hall completes the trio of appointments joining the company as Product Procurement and Integration Manager. Well-respected in the marine equipment industry, Mike brings a wealth of experience spanning 25 years, including the role of Head of Sales within one of the UK’s largest marine distributors, Simpson Lawrence. Mike is a founder partner of SailForce and based in Barnstaple, Devon, he enjoys his leisure time boating and volunteering with the local Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team. “As part of the Barrus Marine Equipment Team, I will be helping to build the product portfolio by identifying complementary brands, integrating them into the business and maximising the potential across all of Barrus’s extensive customer groups,” commented Mike.

“These three key appointments further strengthen our dedicated Marine Equipment Team and show our commitment to providing our customers with the most comprehensive portfolio of market-leading brands and products in the industry, “ concluded Ben Allen, General Manager of the Marine Leisure Division at Barrus.
