Shockwave Seats lose weight at Seawork

Canadian exhibitor, Shockwave was back at the Speed@Seawork sea trials day and exhibited throughout Seawork. The company introduced the result of its constant innovation in marine suspension technology.

The S3 Lightweight Jockey Seats come as either a single or a dual seat. The key element is that they are 20% lighter while improving performance and prolonging the time to Whole Body Vibration (WBV) limit. Suitable for High-speed RIBS, boarding operations and Tactical Craft, Shockwave believe “there is no jockey seat like it”.

Speaking at the product launch at Seawork Sean Gerrett, Sales Manager at Shockwave Seats, said, “The reduction of weight is a critical factor as it not only effects the performance of the boat it helps with the limits on davit lifting and the general response of the boat. Importantly, despite the weight reduction the strength of the seats is not effected.”

He went on to demonstrate the new mechanism for changing the height of seats which also saves weight on previous height adjustment. He acknowledged that the type of boats using their products demand flexible seating and so the new S3 Lightweight Jockey Seats offer a quick release track system. The suspension seats can be combined to create mission specific configurations and can be paired with swivel for boarding or gunner position seating.

The SHOCKWAVE S3 Lightweight Jockey Seats are built for the most demanding applications giving complete shock mitigation solutions for compact, space restrictive requirements. Shockwave say the 8-inch travel FOX Float H2O shock absorber sets the benchmark for performance.

“These Jockey Seats allow for more responsive boat handling and offer a versatile set-up so they can be used for different missions and a variety of vessel requirements. I’m thrilled to offer this to our customers,” says SHOCKWAVE Founder and CEO, David Smith.
